Jevtic: February 9 elections to determine the future of the Serbian people in Kosovo

The upcoming elections in Kosovo are crucial, as they will determine the future of the Serbian people in the region, emphasized Dalibor Jevtic, Vice President of the Serb List.

“These are more important elections than ever due to the world events, especially in the last four years since Albin Kurti with his ethnonationalist politics has done everything to expel the Serbian people, when even the little rights we had were taken away. These February 9 elections are the first step towards our goal, which is to finally free the Serbian people from this regime, to occupy the positions in the institutions in Pristina that belong to us by the will of the Serbian citizens living in Kosovo and Metohija. They are crucial for several reasons. They will determine the future of what will happen in the area of Kosovo and Metohija and the region. If Kurti's policy continues after the elections, it seems to me that we will go towards further destabilization. All that he has done and proven is that he has only caused instability, insecurity, especially for the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija,” explained Jevtic to RTS.

He pointed out that the Serb List has been in every part of Kosovo, both because of the election campaign and the continuation of what it usually does, which are direct conversations with citizens.

From these conversations in Velika Hoca and Orahovac, he says, one can best understand the position of the Serbian people in Metohija, in communities where they live in a majority environment.

“Everything through which Serbs in Metohija have been passing is challenging not just now. Yesterday, we visited Velika Hoca and Orahovac. Along with female candidates for deputies, I had the opportunity to talk with the locals of Orahovac and Velika Hoca. We listened to some kinds of pleas and criticisms and together concluded that on February 9, all of us in Kosovo and Metohija have only one name and surname, and that is the Serb List and number 112,” he emphasized.

Jevtic said that he saw that in Velika Hoca and Orahovac, the Serb List has great support, and that all compatriots are aware that only the Serb List can ensure that they have a better life in these areas in the coming period.

“They live there hard. Living in a community where you are a minority is difficult because you live in conditions of everyday struggle for survival. We have not forgotten what happened specifically in Velika Hoca when good hosts were attacked, when their products were taken away. It is known that people in Orahovac and Velika Hoca are engaged in viticulture. We have not forgotten everything that happened in the not so distant past when a large number of Serbs were kidnapped during the war events. Their pleas are to have the possibility to survive and remain,” he conveyed.

He added that a common agreement on joint activities was reached together with the state of Serbia, which has opened new jobs and provided direct assistance to Serbian families.

He indicated that the state of Serbia has always been with its people and continuously helps the Serbs through direct assistance, building houses, providing subsidies for family businesses, everything that means life.

Jevtic pointed out that the Serb List is faced during the campaign with the rhetoric of Albin Kurti who did everything to remove the Serb List from the electoral process, and when he did not succeed in that, he continued to do everything so that the ultimate goal would not be achieved.

“Our goal is not only to win all 10 mandates but to win for the life and survival of the Serbian people. When you see that on one side you have Albin Kurti, who does everything against the Serbian people, and his satellites who attack the Serb List in the same way and with the same rhetoric, it is clear that the Serb List is the only one that truly protects the interest of life and survival of the Serbian people. On the ground, we received direct support which means that a vote for the Serb List is a vote for staying and surviving, and every other vote is for Kurti's policy. It pleases that the wisdom of our citizens is present, that they expect us with open doors and open arms. They are aware that only the Serb List has the support of Serbia, President Aleksandar Vucic. We have no other state and because of that fact, we entered the political fight together with our people. In the elections, not only the Serb List will win but the Serbian people,” concluded Jevtic.
