Serb List launched the campaign in Ranilug: The situation is difficult; we will be a barrier to actions harmful to Serbs
The Serb List began its election campaign today in Ranilug. The party's president, Zlatan Elek, stated that the situation is difficult, but that the upcoming elections present an opportunity for the party to secure 10 mandates and serve as a barrier against new moves that could harm the Serbian people in Kosovo. A victory for the Serb List will be a victory for all Serbs who hold Kosovo in their hearts, Elek said.
With a meeting with Serbs in Ranilug, the Serb List officially started its election campaign in the region of Kosovo Pomoravlje, as Elek emphasized that the party cares about every Serb and every Serbian family throughout Kosovo.
“We do not divide ourselves into Serbs south and north of the Ibar River, as evidenced by our visit here today, to Kosovo Pomoravlje,” Elek added.
He reported that they discussed with the residents of Ranilug all the challenges they are expected to face in the coming period.
Elek warned that the situation is very difficult for all Serbs in Kosovo, both south and north of the Ibar, as Albin Kurti seeks to score cheap political points by oppressing the Serbian people.
“Right now, the focus is on Serbs north of the Ibar. The goal of our political representatives here in Kosovo Pomoravlje has been to support the people, which they have done in the best possible way through infrastructure projects, providing agricultural subsidies for machinery, offering subsidies to create new jobs, and distributing construction materials to ease the lives of our people. All of this has been done with the support of the Serbian state,” Elek said.
He stressed that the February 9 elections are the best opportunity for the Serb List to secure 10 mandates and prove its strength, ensuring that Serbian representatives in the Kosovo parliament act as a barrier against harmful moves targeting the Serbian people in Kosovo.
“You are all witnesses to how the current regime in Pristina has done almost everything to prevent the Serb List from participating in the upcoming elections. The question arises, why was this done? The Serb List is the only barrier to Kurti and represents the bulwark for the survival and persistence of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija,” Elek said.
He added that Kurti cannot manipulate the Serb List’s candidates for parliament, as they will never serve as his proxies, unlike some individuals.
Elek stated that the Serb List is the only Serbian party supported by Serbia and Belgrade.
He noted that the Serb List offers the best candidates for these elections, including outstanding professors, doctors, judges, and political fighters who have proven themselves in the Kosovo parliament by defending Serbian interests.
“Pristina authorities and Kurti have never been able to influence them, which is why they left those institutions,” Elek added.
He called on all Serbs to unite.
“We must forget all our differences and disagreements. Together, under one banner, we need to secure all 10 mandates. A victory for the Serb List means a victory for all Serbs who cherish Kosovo in their hearts. It means a victory for all Serbs who uphold the connection between Serbia and the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija. Long live Serbian unity, Serbian solidarity, and the Serbian people. When the Serbian people are united and cohesive, they always prevail, and it will be the same this time,” Elek concluded.
The leadership of the Serb List, including Zlatan Elek, Dragisa Milovic, Dalibor Jevtic, and Igor Simic, was welcomed in Ranilug with Serbian tricolors.
After the visit to Ranilug, representatives of the Serb List will also visit the Gnjilane Health Center.
