Stefan Surlic, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences, assessed that the upcoming elections in Kosovo will not bring about significant political changes, Euronews Serbia reports.

“All polls indicate that political options will retain approximately the same share of their core vote. I do not believe that anything substantial will change in political terms,” Surlic said.

He emphasized that a common denominator among Albanian political options in Kosovo is a highly nationalistic and hardline approach.

“I do not see any constructive voice toward the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, and this will continue after these elections,” Surlic added.
Surlic assessed that these elections will not mark the beginning of a new political period.

“There is no kind of reset. Elections are usually presented as the start of something new, something different, but these elections are essentially treading water, with the same old political narrative and the same political framework,” Surlic said.
