Vucic: I hope for a victory of the Serb List; good decision by Nikolcevic not to go against his people

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today that he hopes for a victory of the Serb List in the elections in Kosovo on Sunday, so that it will be represented in a way that allows it to represent the interests of Serbs in Kosovo. He also said that it was a good decision by Sladjan Nikolcevic, a member of the civic initiative Freedom, Justice, Survival, who withdrew from the electoral process as the only candidate for deputy from Strpce, because he did not want to go against his people.

“For us, it is very important to fight for Serbian representatives to secure their place and to be represented in such a way that in the future they represent the interests of our people, and not the interests of Albin Kurti. It is a good message from Sladjan Nikolcevic, who did not want to go against his people in Strpce and left the list of Albin Kurti, that is, Nenad Rasic,” Vucic told reporters in Belgrade after touring the construction works on the Sava Bridge.

He added that he sincerely supports and hopes for a major and important victory by the Serb List on Sunday.

“I believe that the Serb List will win by far the largest number of Serbian mandates, and I want them to successfully represent our people,” Vucic said, adding that in the past seven days he had not managed to see polling from Pristina, but that tomorrow and in the coming days he would have more time to look into it.

Meanwhile, GI SPO member Sladjan Nikolcevic announced that he is withdrawing from the electoral process in which he was the only candidate for deputy of that civic initiative from the Strpce Municipal Board, because, as he stated, he is aware that the actions of the president of GI SPO and the caretaker minister for communities and returns, Nenad Rasic, are based on personal interest and lead to further divisions and a weakening of the position of the Serbian people in Kosovo.
