Berisha: Assembly should dismiss the Kosovo Government, Prosecutor's Office should investigate Kurti
MP of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Hisen Berisha, said that the Assembly should dismiss the Kosovo Government and the Prosecutor's Office should investigate Prime Minister Albin Kurti over the agreement with Serbia, Koha writes.
"The Kosovo Assembly, primarily the MPs, should dismiss this government. The chief prosecutor should investigate the government and the prime minister for exceeding their constitutional powers for agreements. Almost every constitution states that any international agreement signed by representatives of a state that violates territorial integrity, political sovereignty, and the interests of the state, is treason," Berisha said on the "Interaktiv" show on KTV.
He added that Kurti had opposed the draft statute of the CSM, which the Management Team presented at the May 2 meeting in Brussels, in order to sell patriotism to the people.
According to him, with the agreement on the Franco-German plan on February 27, Kurti eliminated the possibility of the draft Statute of the CSM passing through the filters of the Constitutional Court, but, as he said, officials of the European Union will interpret it now.
"On May 2, the draft statute was brought up by the group appointed by the Kosovo Government. That draft, with that content, had the competence of the state. The Community is more dangerous than Republika Srpska because it is entirely independent. The prime minister knew that the group existed; it was appointed a long time ago. According to the 2015 agreement, the Association's statute had to pass through the filters of the Constitution whenever it was established. But with the consent of the Franco-German plan, the interpretation passes to Miroslav Lajcak," Berisha said.
In his opinion, if Kurti had accepted the agreement from 2015, he would now have the right to send the draft Statute to the Constitutional Court.
"The prime minister opposed this to hide the great harm he was causing Kosovo and to sell patriotism to the people. If he had accepted the 2015 agreement, he would now have the right to send the draft Statute to the Constitutional Court. The prime minister makes statements, feeding the people with patriotism," Berisha added.
He assessed that the statements of President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Kurti after the May meeting were "a mechanical form to show dissatisfaction and preserve the image of a patriot in the people."
"Every Albanian who loves this country should know that it is related to betraying the interests of the state," Berisha said.
He stated that there was no need to replace the Management Team.
"They have fulfilled their mission. The Commission is automatically considered dissolved when it completes its work. This was Kurti's performance," Berisha added.
Berisha emphasized that the extraordinary elections in the north sent a message that Serbs in the north want greater autonomy from the CSM and that they do not recognize Kosovo, and he considered the exit of Serbs from institutions a handicap for Kosovo, not for Serbia.
