Biden sent congratulations to Osmani: The United States supports dialogue and encourages Kosovo to fulfill all its obligations

The President of the United States, Joseph Biden, has sent congratulations to the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of Kosovo's independence declaration, stating, among other things, that Kosovo should continue to engage in dialogue with Serbia with the assistance of the European Union as this process was crucial for achieving normalization and mutual recognition, Reporteri writes.

The President of the United States states in the letter that Kosovo and the US share a stable friendship and partnership strengthened by a common vision for a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous region.

"On behalf of the people of the United States, I extend our best wishes to you and the people of Kosovo as you celebrate your Independence Day on February 17. Kosovo and the United States share a lasting friendship and partnership – strengthened by our common vision for a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous region. The United States strongly supports multi-ethnic Kosovo and its integration into European and Euro-Atlantic institutions. We also continue to support the EU-facilitated Dialogue for reaching a comprehensive normalization agreement with Serbia, as it is an important step toward eventual mutual recognition. Together with states across the region and around the world, the United States encourages Kosovo's leadership to fulfill all its obligations, including all previous agreements reached through this process," the letter from the President of the United States states.

It adds that he looks forward to continuing joint efforts in building inclusive economic growth, strengthening democratic institutions, and improving the rule of law.

"I also look forward to our ongoing security cooperation and joint efforts to advance reforms necessary for Kosovo's ultimate goal of EU integration. And together, we will continue to stand for freedom, including standing with Ukraine against Russia's brutal aggression," Biden said in the letter.
