Bislimi: Lajcak suggested the sequence of steps - first one side does something, then the other

The Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo and the main negotiator in the dialogue with Serbia, Besnik Bislimi, reported tonight that the EU envoy for dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, proposed the sequence of steps in the implementation at yesterday's meeting in Brussels - first one side does something, then the other.

Bislimi, in an interview with Kalxho, said that there were two items on the agenda of Tuesday's meeting.

"The first was the discussion on the implementation of the annex agreed in Ohrid, and the second was the discussion on current issues. In the first part, the most important part of the discussion was about the steps we have to take in the coming days and which derive from the basic agreement and the implementation annex. For example, we discussed the sequence of steps," he said.

Bislimi said that the proposed principle was that it was not possible to approach the implementation of all items at once, because this could create an imbalance. In this way one side gets too much and is not obliged to offer something.

"Lajcak's idea is that there is a sequence of steps, that one side does something, and then the other side," he explained.

Bislimi added that by Friday, the two sides will send their comments on this order proposal.

"Here we cannot say that Kosovo is doing something or Serbia is doing something, but both sides. We agreed to send our comments regarding the sequence of steps by Friday, and based on those comments, the next draft will be published, so we will meet again and agree", Bislimi pointed out.

When it comes to the agreement regarding the missing persons, Bislimi said that they were close to an agreement in August and that Albin Kurti signed the agreement, but Aleksandar Vucic did not.

"Then came the document amended by Lajcak in September, and yesterday we discussed this document and proposed something that will lead us to what Serbia accepts, and we agreed that this document will be signed," Bislimi added.
