High EU Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Josep Borrell announced today that he would invite Kosovo and Serbia to a crisis meeting in Brussels the following week.

Borrell, in a statement to journalists, on the occasion of the meeting of the ministers of interior affairs of the EU and NATO, emphasized that the cooperation between the two organizations was important.

"Our cooperation extends beyond Ukraine. For example, in Kosovo these days it has been shown how important our cooperation is. I would like to thank the soldiers and the KFOR commander for everything they do in the north of Kosovo," he explained.

Borrell also referred to the arrest of three Kosovo policemen, using the word "arrest".

"You know that there was an incident of the arrest of three Kosovo police officers. We are trying to clearly establish what happened and we are in close contact with the KFOR command and both sides in order to see what led to the arrest," he emphasized.

He pointed out that in the meantime he was calling on both sides to calm the situation.

"We see that the situation is constantly worsening and we are again in a situation of crisis management. Next week I will invite both sides to a meeting in Brussels," he emphasized.
