Brnabic: Belgrade is committed to dialogue; insists on the formation of the CSM

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, spoke today with the Quint ambassadors at the OSCE Mission in Vienna, who were visiting Serbia as part of a regional tour to the Western Balkans.

As stated on the government's website, Brnabic thanked the ambassadors for the visit and the support the Mission provides for reforms in the area of the rule of law, and protection of human and minority rights, and stressed that the Government of Serbia would remain committed to the continuation of reforms and regional cooperation.

She had stressed that Belgrade was committed to dialogue with Pristina, that frozen conflict was not a solution, and that she insisted on the formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, the establishment of which had been agreed upon by the Brussels Agreement, the Government of Serbia announced.

"Despite all the challenges, we continue to lead a responsible policy that preserves the stability, peace, and national interests of our country and the issue of unconditional protection and ensuring the safety of members of the Serbian community in Kosovo and Metohija is equally important for Serbia," Brnabic stated.

According to the Government, the ambassadors of Quint stated that the Western Balkans was an extremely important region for the OSCE, as well as for the governments of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the US, and emphasized the importance of continuing to achieve concrete progress in the dialogue with Pristina with the support of the EU, and all five countries.

Brnabic added that Serbia paid great attention to the promotion of tolerance and non-discrimination, issues of media freedom, and the safety of journalists.

She underlined that Serbia appreciated and supports the work of the OSCE Mission in Serbia, with which it had a partnership based on mutual understanding, and expressed the expectation for the continuation of such relations.
