Brnabic: Pristina's position is clear that Serbs from Kosovo should be ethnically cleansed

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, said today that "Albin Kurti announced his intentions and values to the world when he said that the barricades in the north of Kosovo should be removed even at the cost of casualties".

"When he talks about the casualties, he talks about the lives of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija who are on those barricades, and I will remind you that there are also women and children on the barricades, elderly people, educators who hold online classes for high school students from the barricades, he is talking about those potential casualties," said the Prime Minister.

Brnabic expressed her concern about his statement, stressing that it reflects Pristina's clear position that Serbs from Kosovo should be ethnically cleansed.

Brnabic told Happy TV that the "leaders" now want to take advantage of this situation and explain that Serbia has a problem with the international community, because the German ambassador in Pristina, Jorn Rohde, said that the barricades should be removed.

She pointed out that Albin Kurti's statement was actually a "red line" and that the biggest problem was caused by his threat to remove the barricades even at the cost of causalities.

The Prime Minister said that many countries in the International Community recognized Kosovo, but did not agree with Kuri's attitudes and behavior.

"There are parties with whom we disagree about what Kosovo is, whether it is an autonomous province or a state, but they clearly see what Kurti wants to do and oppose it, and in that sense we are partners," she said.

She stated that KFOR is currently a good partner to the Serbian side and is doing its job in accordance with Resolution 1244, stressing that the return of Serbian troops to Kosovo is a big step forward.

According to her, Serbs in Kosovo only want peace, stability and their rights, which are guaranteed to them by existing agreements, which the Pristina side is constantly violating.

She said that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, "took all the initiatives in order to calm the tensions in the Republic of Kosovo and preserve economic stability in the region".

The Prime Minister believes that economic cooperation is a good way to calm disagreements between nations, because when people have higher salaries and pensions and a higher standard of living, they will put their interests above personal conflicts.

"When people don't have jobs, peace and stability, they fear and rebel and look for their pride in war drums," Brnabic pointed out.
