Brnabic thanked Cyprus for voting against Kosovo in Council of Europe

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, received today in a farewell visit the Ambassador of Cyprus to Belgrade, Demetrios Theophylactou. On that occasion, she thanked him for the principled stance of his country, which respects the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, and for their vote "against" the initiation of the procedure for Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe.

As stated in the press release of the Serbian government, Prime Minister Brnabic congratulated Ambassador Theophylactou on his very successful mandate, emphasizing that the bilateral relations between the two countries were based on strong friendship, mutual trust, and historically confirmed closeness and solidarity between the two peoples.

The interlocutors agreed that it is necessary to continue to improve bilateral cooperation in the areas of economy, science, education, scientific research, IT, and others.

At the beginning of the meeting, Theophylactou expressed condolences to Prime Minister Brnabic for the tragedies that occurred at the "Vladislav Ribnikar" Elementary School and in Mladenovac.

The Ambassador of Cyprus thanked Prime Minister Brnabic for the cooperation so far, noting that the relations will continue to develop in the coming period based on strong and decades-long friendship and trust.
