Burjani: Blinken in Tirana on peace in the Balkans and Albania's role in NATO
Political analyst Blerim Burjani said that the visit of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to Albania was special and that it referred only to that country.
Burjani said for Kosovo Online that Blinken would speak in Albania about the country's role in NATO, peace in the Balkans, the fight against corruption, and other internal topics.
"I think that Blinken's agenda only concerns Albania and that it is a special visit. The American envoy will have consultations on larger topics such as peace in the Balkans and Albania's role in NATO in these circumstances. Kosovo is not a bigger problem than Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina. I think that the Special Structure for the fight against corruption will be discussed in Albania, as well as some internal political topics," Burjani said.
When asked why Blinken would not visit Kosovo during his visit to the Balkans, he stated that Kosovo was not a bigger problem than Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska.
"Kosovo is the biggest ally of the United States, but some issues cannot be treated the way they think in some international circles. Kuti has a different policy for the north of Kosovo, he wants to resolve the problems with Serbia as soon as possible," Burjani added.
As he pointed out, the problems between Serbia and Kosovo must be resolved as soon as possible.
"It must be known whether Kosovo has a problem with Belgrade or with the Serbs in Kosovo. If the problem is with the Serbs in Kosovo, a solution should be found, and if the problem is with Belgrade then that it is already very complicated," Burjani concluded.
