Bytyci: Three larger parties can attract smaller parties into pre-election coalitions
Political analyst Seb Bytyci told Kosovo Online that in the snap elections on 28 December, the three larger political parties, namely the Self-Determination Movement, the Democratic Party of Kosovo, and the Democratic League of Kosovo, will try to attract smaller parties into pre-election coalitions.
According to him, it is very likely that there will be a coalition between the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the Social Democratic Initiative (Nisma), and potentially also the Alliance for a New Kosovo (AKR).
He added that the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) could join one of the coalitions as well, because otherwise it risks not becoming part of the next Kosovo parliament.
“The three larger parties will try to attract smaller parties into pre-election coalitions. It is very likely that we will see a coalition between the LDK and Nisma, and potentially AKR. AAK could change its mind and join a coalition, because it risks not crossing the threshold to enter parliament”, Bytyci said.
He also emphasized that the election results will probably not differ much from the previous ones.
