CEC: To date, only one application for special elections in the north, the deadline expires on Monday

The spokesperson of the Central Electoral Commission, Valmir Elezi, said that until today, only one application for participation in the extraordinary elections in the north of Kosovo received, for the mayor of North Mitrovica. The request was submitted on behalf of the Mitrovica Civic Initiative, Klan Kosova reports.

"Until today at 4:00 p.m., the CEC received one request for certification for participation in the extraordinary elections for the mayor of the municipality of North Mitrovica. This request was submitted on behalf of the political entity Mitrovica Civic Initiative," Elezi said.

The deadline for registration of political entities and candidates to participate in the elections began on November 15 and ends on November 21, 2022.

Serbian political parties have announced that they will boycott the mentioned elections.
