Director of the KiM Office, Petar Petkovic, said that the news that an agreement had been reached last night regarding license plates is "propaganda circulating in the Pristina media" and added that Pristina was trying to wage a media war.

"All with the aim of getting Pristina out of this situation. I am in Belgrade, I haven't heard from Lajcak, I was with my family late last night. This is the propaganda that Pristina is running against Belgrade, three days before the start of punitive measures. The worst is that the news is now being taken over by RTS and the Fonet news agency,” Petkovic added during a guest appearance on TV Pink.

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija assessed that the Public Service of Serbia should not participate in this.

"We have nothing to negotiate with Pristina regarding license plates. When we reached an agreement on identity cards, the situation was difficult, because we had an agreement from 2011. We chose to preserve identity cards for Serbs in Kosovo. But when it comes to license plates, the matter is clear. There is no room for compromise because everything is clearly stated. It was clearly stated that re-registration should be carried out on KS or RKS plates," Petkovic said.

He emphasized that he did not know what kind of letter the chief negotiator from Pristina, Besnik Bislimi, had sent to the EU and which models had been discussed and that that was another move by Pristina, which had to withdraw the illegal decision on re-registration.

He reminded that Pristina had canceled KS license plates a year before the deadline.

"In Brussels, Vucic asked clearly for the KS license plates to be returned there is no room for other license plates. It is a pure lie that I agreed to postpone the deadline for re-registration for ten months. Here, only Kurti needs to withdraw his illegal decision, and when he will do that, is not a question for Belgrade. No one can abolish KM plates," Petkovic pointed out.

Petkovic added that the Serbs clearly had said that there was no return to Kosovo institutions.

"Serbs will not return to the institutions of Pristina that was clearly said yesterday by the deputies who technically verified the mandates. The goal is to protect the Serbian people. After the resignation of our ten deputies, Kurti realized that he had a chance to remove the Serbian majority. We will not negotiate about CSM in any framework. The CSM is clearly defined by the agreement, we agreed on it ten years ago," Petkovic said.

He repeated the reasons why the Serb List verified nine parliamentary seats yesterday, which had remained vacant after leaving the Kosovo Assembly.

"Without ten Serbian deputies, Kurti could abolish the Serbian language, Serbian municipalities, and religious holidays and present the Serbian cultural heritage as Kosovar. The Serb List is a barrier that prevents the introduction of anti-Serb laws in the Assembly of Kosovo," Petkovic added.

He added that Serbia took care of its population in Kosovo.

"The fact that yesterday Kosovo Serbs who left Kosovo institutions signed contracts with the state of Serbia shows that we took their demands seriously," Petkovic said.

He added that Belgrade had sent a clear answer to the Franco-German proposal.
