CEC rejects accreditation of all Serbian-language media for coverage of local elections

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has accredited the first group of media outlets to cover the local elections scheduled for Sunday, October 12, but none of them are media that report in the Serbian language.

CEC refused to issue accreditation to Kosovo Online, RTV Puls, TV Most, Kontakt Kosovska Mitrovica, Plus Radio, Prva TV, Radio Kim, Radio Television of Serbia, Tanjug, Gracanica Online, TV Gracanica, Mondo/Kurir TV, Insajder, Ninamedija, RTV Vojvodina, Radio KM, Alternativni, TV Herc, Video Plus, Nova.rs, Media Center Caglavica, and Danas.

Accreditation was also denied to Raporto24.com, Vendi Sot, Mitropol Media, MTVA – Hungarian State Television, Ekspoz Media, Leke Musoli, E Perditshmja BotaSote Re, and R Media L.L.C.

According to the CEC decision, 29 local media outlets and 13 other international media organizations have been accredited, with a total of 573 of their representatives.

In the table published on the CEC website, it is noticeable that the accreditations were granted to local Kosovar, Albanian-language, and several international media outlets.

However, the Balkan bureau of RTV Slovenia based in Belgrade appeared both in the table of accredited media and on the list of those denied accreditation by the CEC.
