Çitaku on Haxhiu’s Statement: An attempt to delegitimize institutions is a call for anarchy
Kosovo Democratic Party MP Vlora Çitaku, responding to the statement by Kosovo’s acting Minister of Justice Albulena Haxhiu, said that any attempt to delegitimize institutions—in this case, the Constitutional Court—constitutes a call for anarchy.
Çitaku stated that Kosovo’s security is not protected through press conferences.
“Let’s be clear: the presiding chair of the session, Avni Dehari, violated the Constitution, and this was unanimously determined by the judges of the Constitutional Court, including two judges for whom you yourselves voted,” Çitaku wrote on Facebook.
She added that any attempt to delegitimize an institution—in this case, the Constitutional Court—constitutes a call for anarchy.
“Where were you, honorable people, over the past four years? You had absolute power. National security is not protected through press conferences, but through concrete actions. Both pathetic and dangerous at the same time,” she added.
Earlier today, Haxhiu stated that the Constitutional Court of Kosovo had exceeded its powers and taken away the competences of the parliament.
