Çitaku: Kurti’s Government characterized by isolation, poverty, and mass exodus of citizens

Member of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Vlora Çitaku, sharply criticized Albin Kurti’s government, saying it is characterized by “isolation, sanctions, poverty, and a mass exodus of citizens,” reports Gazeta Express.

Çitaku stated that today’s press conference, which was supposed to be held at the Self-Determination (Vetëvendosje) headquarters rather than in the government building, would have been good material for a comedy—if Kosovo were not in the difficult situation it faces today.

“For nine consecutive months, Kurti kept telling us that he had the numbers. Today, with an ironic smile, he admitted that he had them through a secret vote—but now he no longer does. In the meantime, Kosovo is isolated, under sanctions, burdened by a struggling economy and unaffordable prices for our families,” Çitaku said, as reported by Gazeta Express.

She added that for Kurti, the state is a stage and the citizens must be entertained by his performance.

“The man who has left no value untouched and no one unscathed spoke again today about the need to win a ‘referendum’ rather than elections. Because for him, governing only makes sense if he rules alone. We have already seen what his rule means—five years of absolute power. The results? Isolation, poverty, and the mass exodus of our citizens,” she said.

Çitaku concluded by saying that enough is enough, stressing that Kurti is no longer an untested figure, as the people now know who he is and what his rule brings.
