The Commander of KFOR, Major General Angelo Michele Ristuccia, stated that the situation in Kosovo was peaceful, but still "very unstable", as well as that tensions between the two sides were still high due to political differences, and that the only solution to such a situation was a political one, and not military, Voice of America reports.
"The situation is calm after the events of May 29. However, in a way, it is still very unstable. We notice tensions due to several unresolved issues," Ristuccia told reporters in Brussels.
According to him, the most worrying thing is the mistrust between the two parties.
"If we had to establish a diagnosis of what happened, I would say that the most worrying thing is mistrust - mistrust between the parties. This means that there is no military solution. The only solution is a political one," the KFOR Commander said.
