The International Day of KFOR was marked in Pristina today, and the Commander of the Mission, General Angelo Michele Ristuccia, said that KFOR was focused on "faithful execution of its mandate", guaranteeing a life in peace and security for all ethnic groups.

The event is organized by 27 participating countries of the KFOR Mission, with the aim of strengthening the integration of international military personnel and citizens, and promoting cultural diversity within the Mission as a factor of success and growth, according to a statement published on Facebook.

General Ristuccia said in a solemn speech that KFOR continues to fulfill its mandate.

"Here we are today, continuing to fulfill our mandate faithfully, guaranteeing that all ethnic groups in the institutions of Kosovo have the opportunity to live in peace and security. It is an honorable mission and I believe that you are all very proud of being a part of it," Ristuccia said.

It is added that KFOR remains fully focused on the daily implementation of its mandate - based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 from 1999 - to ensure a safe environment and freedom of movement for all people living in Kosovo.
