Dacic: If the international community does not stand in Kurti's way, he will undoubtedly ignite a war

Albin Kurti is the main generator of the crisis and the biggest problem in the Western Balkans, and if the international community does not stand in his way, he will undoubtedly ignite a war, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic warned today.

"Kurti is only interested in that. He is not interested in a peaceful life, reconciliation, economic cooperation, roads, trade, or infrastructure development. His only concern is how to realize his extremist policies," Dacic said during a guest appearance on TV Pink.

Stating that Pristina's goal is for Serbia to agree and recognize Kosovo's unilaterally declared independence, he emphasizes that Serbia has clearly stated that it will never happen.

Therefore, as Dacic says, they attack international mediators from Pristina, accusing them of not doing their job well as they fail to force Serbia to recognize Kosovo.

Kurti doesn't know any limits; he doesn't know how far he can go in fabricating escalations that cause instability, as Dacic mentioned.

"You heard Miroslav Lajcak, who said that the elections in four municipalities were a landmine. But what have we been saying all along? Now you realize that it's a landmine?" Dacic pointed out.

He stressed that every move made by Kurti was a landmine – forming the Kosovo army and banning Serbian goods.

He also noted that no one reacted to the fact that Serbian goods could not enter Kosovo.

"But when Serbs protest because of it, then it is asked why Serbs protest. When they boycott elections – why do Serbs boycott... But when Kurti boycotted the institutions of Yugoslavia, and when Albanians in Kosovo fought for secession from Yugoslavia, it was then seen as an expression of democracy and the fight for freedom," Dacic pointed out, reminding that the KLA was on the list of terrorist organizations in the US but was later "renamed as freedom fighters."

As he reiterated, Kurti is not just a problem for Pristina and Belgrade but for the entire international community.

"If anyone thinks they can preserve peace and stability in this region, they must stand in his way and stop him. We cannot allow the pogrom and terror of Serbs in Kosovo. Serbia cannot tolerate it, nor will it allow it," Dacic said.

Commenting on the delivery of Turkish drones to Pristina, Dacic stated that this was not any secret information and that he was aware that Turkey considered this part of the region to be historically important.

"They said if something happened in Sarajevo, it must prompt a reaction in Istanbul. But then I don't understand how, if something happens in Banja Luka, it cannot prompt a reaction from Belgrade," the head of Serbian diplomacy noted.

He pointed out that Serbia's role in the region must be understood, despite the knowledge that Turkish sympathies were always on the side of Kosovo, as well as Bosniaks.

"But one thing is sympathy. This (the delivery of drones) is a matter of direct assistance to those who are terrorizing Serbs," Dacic emphasized.

As he said, Belgrade certainly does not interpret this in a positive sense, and a series of discussions will be needed on this topic, as Serbia has done a lot to normalize relations with Turkey.

"When Erdogan's head was on the line, Vucic called him. It wasn't Thaci or Haradinaj calling him...," Dacic said, adding that in Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Albania, "they nurtured Erdogan's opponents."

Regarding today's visit of Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to Serbia, Dacic points out that the country does not recognize Kosovo.

"Museveni said that Uganda will recognize Kosovo when Vladimir Putin does it," he emphasized.

Dacic stated that it was an official statement from the head of the Ugandan state.
