Dacic on the "No Surrender" flag: The UN did not recognize Kosovo; the fact that it was accepted into FIFA means nothing

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dacic, spoke about the filed complaint of the Football Federation of Kosovo to punish the Serbian football team for the "No Surrender" flag, which decorated the "eagles" locker room before the match against Brazil. Dacic told FIFA that it had been hypocritical because the United Nations had not recognized Kosovo, and that it had been a matter of double standards.

"We cannot react as a state now, because these are sports organizations." But it shows how great the hypocrisy is. Can you imagine now that Ukraine is here? And for it to say, Crimea is Ukraine; there is no surrender. Would someone expel Ukraine, or would someone punish Ukraine? How are they not ashamed?! Wait a moment, do they think that we are all stupid and that we all don't understand what this is all about," Ivica Dacic said in a guest appearance on TV Prva.

Dacic stated that he was not talking "about FIFA now because that was what Kosovo complained about".

"Probably there are some procedures and I don't know what the punishment could be; monetary, probably. It's hypocritical. Has Kosovo been declared a state? The fact that it was accepted into FIFA does not mean anything. There are also members of a regional character. Here the United Nations did not recognize Kosovo". That flag says about football and that there is no surrender, that's how I understood it," Ivica Dacic said.
