Djuric with Bono: Serbia determined to establish itself as one of the key partners of the USA in Europe

Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Marko Djuric, held talks with the Assistant for Europe and Eurasia at the State Department, Luis Bono, during which he conveyed that Serbia is determined to establish itself as one of the key partners of the USA in Europe. He also pointed out that Serbia expects international partners to ensure the rights and security of Serbs in Kosovo and support the implementation of agreements in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

In a telephone conversation, the head of Serbian diplomacy expressed satisfaction with the current bilateral relations, recently crowned by the initiation of the Strategic Dialogue as an additional platform for cooperation between our two countries in many areas.

"The mutual readiness for strategic talks on further enhancing our relations has laid the foundation for a new chapter in our long joint history," assessed Minister Djuric, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Djuric reiterated Serbia's firm resolve to cooperate with the new American administration with the aim of strengthening political, economic, and other aspects of our relations, as well as to establish itself as one of the key partners of the USA in Europe.

Informing his interlocutor about the situation in Kosovo, Djuric particularly emphasized the constant provocations and violations of the basic human rights of Serbs and other non-Albanian populations, noting that in the current situation of increased tensions, Serbia expects international partners to secure the rights and safety of Serbs and support the implementation of all agreements reached in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

Regarding the increasingly intense economic relations, the minister highlighted that the USA is a very important economic partner and one of the leading foreign investors, and that the presence of many American companies, which, in addition to successful business operations, are also opening research and development centers, confirms the positive business environment in Serbia.
