Djuric: Kurti is building an apartheid state in the heart of Europe, Serbia will not remain silent in the face of Serb persecution
Serbia’s Foreign Minister, Marko Djuric, accused Albin Kurti of “building an apartheid state in the heart of Europe and systematically persecuting Serbs solely based on their ethnicity,” thereby threatening the stability of the entire region.
“In response to yet another barrage of lies about Serbia coming from Kurti’s sick mind, I want to emphasize the following: Unlike Albin Kurti, who is building an apartheid state in the heart of Europe, systematically persecuting Serbs just because of their nationality and brutally violating basic human rights, Serbia makes a clear distinction between citizens of Albanian ethnicity – with whom it seeks peace, coexistence, and cooperation – and Kurti’s political associates, who are responsible for violating domestic and international norms,” Djuric wrote on platform X.
He stated that Kurti is using ethnic hatred as a political weapon, thereby endangering the entire region’s stability.
“Albin Kurti once again revealed who and what he is – an extremist obsessed with divisions, who wields ethnic hatred as a political weapon, undermining the stability of the entire region. Kurti belongs to the region’s dark past and will soon, politically, become part of it,” the Serbian minister added.
He emphasized that “despite continuous provocations and falsehoods, Serbia will not give up the fight for the freedom and equality of all citizens of Kosovo and Metohija.”
“Personal responsibility for recent developments lies solely with those who organize and carry out unlawful acts, discrimination, ethnically motivated purges, and violence – including Kurti himself and his close circle of associates. It is wrong to think that Serbian institutions, as well as international institutions, will forget their actions. Attempts to deflect personal political failures, loss of legitimacy, and a complete lack of support on the ground onto the international stage and Serbia are doomed to fail. They will not escape the consequences of their own actions,” Djuric underlined.
He concluded by saying that Serbia remains committed to peace but will not silently watch as the rights of the Serbian people are trampled.
“Our message to the international community is clear: it is time to finally say to Albin Kurti – enough is enough,” Djuric wrote.
