On the sidelines of the 55th session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda, Chet Greene, whom he thanked for the withdrawal of recognition of Kosovo and with whom he discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

Djuric stated that his presence at the OAS General Assembly, held this year in Antigua and Barbuda, reflects the importance Serbia places on regional organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean. He emphasized that Serbia is very open to all suggestions on how to enhance contacts with member states, both bilaterally and within the framework of organizations.

The Serbian foreign minister highlighted Serbia’s commitment to intensifying overall political dialogue with Antigua and Barbuda, as well as contacts between the two foreign ministries with the aim of establishing regular political consultations.

Djuric also conveyed Serbia’s clear interest in advancing economic cooperation, noting that it is necessary to thoroughly review and improve the legal framework in this area.

The minister specifically thanked Antigua and Barbuda for its decision to withdraw recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo, as well as for its support in international organizations on issues of importance to Serbia.

On this occasion, Djuric also expressed gratitude for the official confirmation of Antigua and Barbuda’s participation in Expo 2027, stating that Serbia looks forward to the opportunity to host a friendly delegation in Belgrade.
