Djuric with Saathoff: Serbia committed to European path, stability, and regional cooperation

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Djuric, met today with Johann Saathoff, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany.

On this occasion, the two sides discussed strengthening bilateral relations, intensifying political dialogue, and cooperation in areas of mutual interest, noting that such visits send a clear message regarding the relations between Serbia and Germany, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia stated.

Minister Djuric underlined that membership in the European Union remains a strategic foreign policy commitment of the Republic of Serbia, emphasizing that Serbia continues to work with dedication and perseverance toward achieving this priority.

Stressing that stability is a prerequisite for economic progress, and referring to current developments in Serbia, Minister Djuric pointed out that reducing tensions and pursuing dialogue represent the only path to addressing the challenges Serbia is currently facing.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on the situation in the Western Balkans, with the Serbian Foreign Minister conveying that Serbia remains firmly committed to preserving stability and peace, as well as to enhancing regional cooperation, underscoring that such cooperation provides an additional impetus to the region’s development across various sectors and contributes to the reconciliation process.

On the same day, the German Embassy in Pristina announced that Johann Saathoff will pay an official visit to Kosovo on 22 and 23 August.
