Djuric: Serbia and Brazil share common understanding on many issues, seek stronger cooperation
Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric met today with Brazil's Ambassador to Belgrade, Maria Clara de Abreu Rada, to discuss the outcomes of his recent visit to Brazil and the next steps in advancing bilateral cooperation.
Djuric said that today's meeting represented a continuation of the discussions he had held during his visit to Brazil.
"Following the productive meetings I had in Brazil two weeks ago, today's substantive discussion with Brazil's Ambassador to Serbia, Maria Clara de Abreu Rada, gave us the opportunity to review the successful outcomes of that visit and discuss the next steps in our bilateral engagement," Djuric wrote on the social media platform X.
He stressed that Serbia and Brazil share a common understanding on a wide range of issues and are interested in further strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
"I am pleased that we share a common understanding on numerous issues and that we are mutually committed to further enhancing cooperation in all areas that are beneficial to our two countries, including agriculture, trade and investment, air transport, and many others," the minister stated.
He added that particular attention during the meeting was devoted to developing cooperation between the diplomatic academies of Serbia and Brazil.
"We also discussed strengthening ties between our diplomatic academies in order to bring Serbia and Brazil even closer in that field," Djuric said.
He thanked Brazil's partners for their hospitality during his recent visit and expressed confidence that the positive momentum in bilateral relations would continue.
"Once again, my sincere thanks to our Brazilian colleagues for their outstanding hospitality. May this new momentum in relations between Serbia and Brazil continue," Djuric said.
The minister visited Brazil in late June. Following his talks with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira, he stated that Brazil would not change its consistent position on respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.
