Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric met today in Munich with NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska, and in the conversation he emphasized that regular dialogue with the Alliance contributes to better understanding, especially when it comes to preserving peace in Kosovo.

Djuric said that relations between Serbia and NATO are based on partnership cooperation, in accordance with Serbia's policy of military neutrality, but with openness to further improving cooperation in all areas of common interest, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

The Minister pointed out that regular dialogue between Serbia and NATO contributes to better mutual understanding on the most important issues, especially when it comes to the need to preserve peace in Kosovo and the security of the Serbian people on the ground.

The Serbian Foreign Minister underlined that Serbia supports the engagement of international forces in Kosovo, in the strict, full and impartial implementation of the mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244, and that he expects KFOR to maintain a status-neutral position and to act proactively in order to prevent any disruption of the security situation on the ground.

The meeting between Djuric and Sekerinska was attended by the Minister for European Integration Tanja Miscevic and the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic.
