Elshani: Police found broken glass in UNMIK offices
Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police for the Northern Region, Veton Elshani, stated to Kosovo Online that Kosovo police officers had found broken glass in UNMIK offices in municipal buildings in Leposavic and Zubin Potok, in response to our portal's information that the offices of this mission in these two municipalities were broken into.
As diplomatic sources from Pristina conveyed to Kosovo Online, office furniture, a refrigerator, and other items were stolen from UNMIK premises. The only occupants in the municipal building in Zubin Potok since May, as one member of the diplomatic community in Kosovo informed us, are members of the Kosovo Police.
The break-ins were confirmed to us by UNMIK.
Elshani says that the police found broken glass, and, as he notes, there is no more information about the inventory.
"We've examined everything, but what was inside, we don't know. We have no information; if they know that something was taken out, I don't know", Elshani said briefly.
As conveyed to Kosovo Online by UNMIK, they have limited access to the offices located in municipal buildings in Zubin Potok, Zvecan, and Leposavic since the incidents in May 2023.
"UNMIK has visited its offices on several occasions to recover a part of its property and assess the premises with the support of KFOR and in coordination with the Kosovo authorities. UNMIK has expressed concern to the Kosovo authorities about unauthorized entry into its premises", the written response from UNMIK, sent to our editorial office, states.
