The Eparchy of Raska and Prizren has sent letters to the heads of the European Union Office and the missions of EULEX and OSCE, as well as the ambassadors of the Quint countries, with the aim of protecting the abbot of the Devine Vode Monastery, Archimandrite Fotije, who was deported to North Macedonia after 13 years of residing in Kosovo, Kosovo Online learns in the Eparchy.

The letters explained that the abbot, who had held this position for 13 years, despite following the legal procedure for extending his stay in Kosovo in order to obtain Kosovo documents, had been deported.

The Eparchy will also file complaints with all relevant legal authorities for discrimination, violations of the Law on Religious Freedoms, violations of the Law on the Use of Languages during the process of document submission and deportation, as well as the lack of any explanation for the decision to reject the request for an extension of stay, or the decision to annul the previous stay permit and the decision for forced deportation.

The complaints, in accordance with legal procedures, will be submitted by a lawyer.
