France: We condemn Pristina's unilateral actions that endanger the Serbian community in Kosovo

France strongly condemns the increase in unilateral actions by the Kosovo authorities in the north of Kosovo that affect the daily lives of the Serbian community, the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs stated, adding that those actions undermined the efforts for the normalization of relations with Serbia.

They remind that the normalization of relations is a prerequisite for membership of both Serbia and Kosovo in the EU.

"France strongly condemns the increase in unilateral actions by the Kosovo authorities in the north of the country that affect the daily lives of the Serbian community. These actions undermine efforts to normalize relations with Serbia, which are a prerequisite for achieving the European perspective for both countries," the statement from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads.

France calls on the Kosovo authorities to refrain from any further unilateral actions that could contribute to an escalation of tensions.

"It also encourages both sides to return to negotiations under the auspices of the EU in order to make progress in implementing the Brussels-Ohrid Agreement," the statement emphasizes.
