Gasic: Albanian mafia from Kosovo supplies weapons to smugglers in northern Serbia

Serbia's Minister of Internal Affairs, Bratislav Gasic, stated today that organized criminal groups smuggling migrants in northern Serbia were receiving assistance from the Albanian mafia in Kosovo, as reported by RTV.

Gasic laid the foundation stone for the new building of the Gendarmerie Command in Rakovica today. On that occasion, he emphasized that this unit was a source of pride for Serbia and that no organized criminal group was welcome in the country.

He also mentioned that the Albanian mafia was supplying weapons to criminal groups involved in migrant smuggling.

"These are not migrants; these are organized criminal groups against whom we are fighting. It means we need to distinguish between migrants and organized criminal groups with the help of the Albanian mafia, which comes from our southern province. Weapons are coming from down there," Gasic stated.
