Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia, Bratislav Gasic, stated tonight that the Kosovo Minister of Police, Xhelal Svecla, by announcing that all patrols of the Kosovo Police would be equipped with long guns from today, was actually criminalizing the Serbs in Kosovo and added nothing else could have been expected from a formation that was, as he said, "dressed in KLA clothing".

"By announcing that all patrols of the so-called Kosovo Police would be equipped with long guns, allegedly for a more effective fight against crime, Svecla is actually criminalizing the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija and showing incompetence and ignorance that are really necessary in the fight against crime, not long guns aimed at the people", Gasic stated, as reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia.

What else could we have expected from a formation that calls itself the police, but is nothing more than a dressed-up KLA, Gasic emphasized.

"Is Svecla afraid of the Serbs? Proud and dignified, preserving their ancestral homes and seeking only freedom and peace. Or is he trying, in the well-established manner of the KLA, to further intimidate the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija with long guns?" the minister asked.

He pointed out that this was inappropriate at the very least because long guns were not used in routine traffic control or in the routine control of citizens, however, it was extremely provocative and dangerous for escalating tensions on the ground in Kosovo.

Gasic emphasized that this was further confirmation that Albin Kurti had no intention of peacefully and restrainedly ensuring and maintaining a peaceful and stable life for the Serbs in Kosovo, respecting all European conventions.

"He continues with the policy of instilling fear and violence against the Serbian population, hiding behind the long guns", Minister Gasic stated.
