The head of the European Union delegation in Belgrade, Emanuele Giaufret, says that the European proposal on Kosovo is a historic opportunity and that it is excellent news that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti agreed that no further discussion was needed on the EU proposal, N1 reports.

"However, success comes with the actual implementation of the agreement. After the meeting, the EU's high representative stated that all previous dialogue agreements remained valid and binding, including, of course, the establishment of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, and we will continue to insist on this urgent matter," Giaufret said in an interview with Kurir.

He stated that it was critical to see the positive aspects of the new agreement because it could bring new economic opportunities through increased financial aid, business cooperation, and new investments in Kosovo and Serbia.

"It will also be a turning point in the process of Serbia's integration into the EU," Giaufret said.

According to him, EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajcak will continue his diplomatic efforts in March in Belgrade and Pristina in preparation for the next high-level meeting.

"We must all work together to implement all of the agreements," Giaufret emphasized.
