Former US Special Envoy for Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, Richard Grenell, says that he received information from the State Department that John Kirby, the Coordinator for Strategic Communications in the National Security Council, did not have accurate information regarding the number of Serbian troops along the administrative line with Kosovo.
Grenell wrote on the social media platform 'X' that Kirby had incorrectly stated that there had been an accumulation of troops at the moment of their withdrawal.
"Career foreign service officer in the State Department tells me: 'Kirby didn’t use the most up-to-date information' about Serbian troop numbers at the border when he erroneously said there was a force 'buildup' when it was a 'drawdown'. She adds 'Balkans experts at State have tried to find NSC colleagues who are interested enough to take the time to fully understand the details'," Grenell wrote.
