Grenell to Kurti: You have destroyed the strong bond between the US and Kosovo
Former US Special Envoy for Dialogue Richard Grenell said that Washington supported those it believed were progressing in respecting Western values and added that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti had destroyed the strong ties between Kosovo and the US.
On Twitter, Grenell, responding to Kurti's comment about yesterday's violent raid by the Kosovo Police on the buildings of the municipalities of Zvecan, Zubin Potok, and Leposavic, which is the right of those elected in democratic elections to take office, said that Kurti was the first leader whose actions had been condemned by both Democrats and Republicans.
"However, foreign aid is not a right. The US supports those who we believe are advancing Western values. You have destroyed the strong bond between the US and Kosovo. You are the first leader of Kosovo who has been condemned by both Democrats and Republicans," Grenell said.
In the post, he tagged the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, to whom he said that "the silence is worrisome", as well as former Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, who he said was "needed now".
