Gudzic: Calls to destroy Serbian monuments are a direct consequence of the incendiary rhetoric of the authorities in Pristina

Historian Aleksandar Gudzic says that the calls by Albanians on social media to destroy Serbian monuments in Gracanica and North Mitrovica are a direct consequence of the irresponsible and inflammatory political rhetoric promoted by the current government, led by Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

Gudzic emphasized the need for control over content disseminated on social media.

"More organized and advanced state and institutional systems, among other things, regulate the content available on social media. Social media is no longer what it was a decade ago, it is now a platform where companies and institutions advertise, but also where such content, content of this nature, is disseminated. It is necessary to control such content," Gudzic stated.

He pointed out that the Department for High-Tech Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Pristina should oversee the content shared on social media, adding that this stems from the rhetoric propagated by the current government.

"Such content is a direct consequence of the irresponsible and inflammatory political rhetoric promoted by the current government led by Albin Kurti. We could have expected and predicted this, given what the current government, led by Albin Kurti, has done in recent years, targeting Serbs as terrorists, using every opportunity to provoke clashes between the Kosovo police and Serbs, broadcasting this in their media, and thereby gaining cheap political points. Such outcomes are a natural consequence of all that," Gudzic highlighted.
