Haradinaj on the draft of the CSM Statute: Serbia has reasons to feel like a winner
President of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, stated this evening that he had read the entire draft of the CSM Statute, proposed by the representatives of the United States, Italy, France, Germany, and the EU, which was presented to him today at the meeting with the EU Special Representative for the dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, and he noted that the Serbs in Kosovo and Serbia had reasons to feel like winners.
"The complete document was given to us for reading. Besnik Tahiri and I read it, and we had the right to take notes but not to photograph it. The document was not given to us, which means that it is still in the early stages", Haradinaj said for Klan Kosova.
He stated that the draft was based on the Constitution and laws, and it was rich in many rights for the Serbian community in Kosovo.
"The document provides many possibilities and facilities at the municipal level, as well as cooperation between municipalities or communities. It also grants rights and responsibilities in healthcare and education, with the support of Serbia, as it is today, but with the difference that diplomas will be recognized", Haradinaj said.
As he stated, in all the authorities that the CSM had, such as the assembly, president, vice president, committees, administration, and financing... all this related to the items of the Constitution and laws regarding the respect of community rights under international conventions.
He added that with such a draft of the CSM Statute, Serbia had the right to financing in various areas, and the Serbs in Kosovo and Serbia had reasons to feel like winners.
"The Community of Serb-majority Municipalities provides many opportunities to function and implement life, and at the same time gives some rights to Serbia, so that Serbia has the right to finance the CSM, healthcare, education... Kosovo is not a supervisor because no revision is allowed. I think that makes them winners. The Serbs of Kosovo and Serbia have reasons to feel like winners with all the guarantees given to municipalities with a Serb majority, with rights, and obligations that Kosovo gets at the central level", Haradinaj said.
