Haziri: Kosovo has not fulfilled EU requirements; we are close to the second package of sanctions
Vice President of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Lutfi Haziri, stated that the Kosovo Government had not fulfilled the demands from the EU summit in Moldova, and Kosovo was therefore expecting a second package of EU measures, Gazeta Blic writes.
Haziri commented on today's statement by the European Union spokesperson, Peter Stano, regarding the sanctions against Kosovo, which will remain in effect.
"The Government has not yet responded to meeting the three demands from the EU summit in Moldova, regarding de-escalation of the situation in the north and organizing elections in those municipalities", Haziri said.
He added that the Government had failed to capitalize on the events that had occurred on September 24 in Banjska.
Haziri emphasized that the Kurti Government had lost trust, and Kosovo's image had been tarnished.
"The Government has lost international trust and credibility. Our image is tarnished, and lifting the punitive measures will be a difficult mission. I wish we didn't have a second package of punitive measures, but we are getting closer to it", Haziri said.
