During the meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo, Ahmet Ismaili, U.S. Ambassador to Pristina Jeffrey Hovenier reiterated the United States' call to postpone the implementation of the regulation on payment transactions, which prohibits the Serbian dinar, in order to, as he stated, leave enough time for a more efficient transition.

Hovenier announced on the social network "X" that he had met today with the governor, to whom he had reiterated the concerns of the United States regarding the implementation of the regulation banning the Serbian dinar in payment transactions.

"Today I had a productive meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo, Ahmet Ismaili. I reiterated U.S. concerns about the implementation of the amended regulation on cash operations. We urge that enforcement be postponed to allow ample time for effective transition and public communication to mitigate negative impact on citizens," Hovenier stated.
