Kosovar political analyst Ili Hoxha believes that the mayors of four municipalities in the north of Kosovo, who were recently elected, should resign, in order to open up possibilities for a political solution.

Hoxha told for RTV Dukagjini that Kosovo should not try to dominate the Serbian minority in the north, but said that the solution should be achieved through the Ohrid Agreement.

"It is not serious to build some institutions based on these results. Kosovo should not strive for the dominance of the minority over the majority... These mayors should resign, to give way to a political solution that would come with the Ohrid Agreement," he said.

Hoxha assesses that Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the international community showed their inability to foresee events, such as the boycott of the elections by the Serbs.

"Absolutely, Kurti, the international mediators, showed their inability to foresee an event of essential importance for peace, the one that they tried to keep in Ohrid. The Ohrid Agreement, which was supposed to solve the big problem between Kosovo and Serbia, does not solve the essential problem of the non-participation of the Serbs in the elections, and there was a warning about that," said Hoxha.
