Igrutinovic: There is a fear that Pristina may ban the work of the Serb List

Research associate at the Institute for European Studies, Milan Igrutinovic, assesses that despite the signals Pristina is receiving from representatives of the international community, there is still a fear that the Serb List may be banned.

"There is a fear. The signals Pristina is receiving are that this will not happen, because it would be an act of escalation, of tightening tensions. However, in the last few years, we know there has been 'tightening and loosening'. It will be important to see in the coming months how the atmosphere develops, not only in the relations between Belgrade and Pristina, which are permanently bad, but also between the international community on the ground, the Quint countries, their embassies, and Pristina," Igrutinovic said to Kosovo Online.

According to him, the "key" lies in the response to whether Kurti will opt for the legitimization of the Serbian community or continue with radical steps.

Igrutinovic believes the chances are fifty-fifty.

"If the assessment is that some form of legitimization of the Serbian community within the Pristina system is needed, Kurti may not resort to radical steps, but he has very often been willing to take them. Honestly, it is hard to give an accurate forecast because the chances for both options are fifty-fifty," Igrutinovic concluded.
