Kajtazi: Even if we send all the police and KSF to the north, we cannot govern the Serbs

Journalist Vehbi Kajtazi says that the issue in the north is not the rule of law but politics, and that it can only be resolved through negotiations because Kosovo in that part "has sovereignty only as much as NATO wants," Gazeta Blic writes.

Kajtazi warns of a dire scenario if the Kosovo government does not comply with the demands of the US and the European Union, and he adds that it is strange how Prime Minister Albin Kurti has brought Kosovo to this point.

He adds that Kosovo has reached a situation where KFOR is returning ministers from the Kosovo government from municipalities in the north.

"The path that Kurti has taken is risky and can turn the north into full international control, and if that happens, there is no more state. If KFOR does not allow special units to go to the north, what is the purpose of this situation? Are we controlling the entire territory, are we governing the whole territory? We have come to a situation of conflict with a state that guarantees our political well-being and security because of four non-existent presidents. Someone who received three percent of the votes cannot be president. The Serbian rejection is political, and you cannot respond to it with violence because when you don't have control, you cannot govern," Kajtazi said.

As he stated, Kosovo institutions cannot govern the Serbs in the north, no matter what they do.

"We can send all the Kosovo police to the north, we can even send the army, but we cannot govern the Serbs, we cannot impose a president. We have come to a point where we cannot move forward or withdraw. These are Kurti's mistakes, who has currently taken control of municipal buildings. They should have handed them over to the American KFOR until the next elections. That way, the job would have been made easier, and we would not have reached this crisis we are facing with sanctions," Kajtazi added.
