Kllokoqi: Serbia and Kosovo issues, including CSM, cannot be resolved without the US

Kosovo's President Vjosa Osmani has called on the United States to be involved in drafting the statute for the Community of Serb Municipalities, and Selatin Kllokoqi from Democracy Plus believes that this is realistic and should have happened earlier.

"That statute should have been written earlier with the US because almost nothing here happens without America. No matter how much the EU leads the talks, in the end, the US comes in, and it's better to draft it with the United States first and then move on to the EU," Kllokoqi stated for Kosovo Online.

He believes that the problems faced by Pristina and Belgrade, as well as the dialogue, cannot be resolved without the United States.

According to him, the EU and the US are working on it together, but America plays the most significant role because Washington, in Kllokoqi's opinion, can find a solution for both Kosovo and Serbia that would pave the way for them to become EU members.

"The US looks at both Serbia and Kosovo as future members of the EU and NATO alliance. It's the best option for both Kosovo and Serbia, and it's best for stability. How difficult it is for Serbia to reach that point is another matter. But I think there are reasonable people in Serbia who understand that, despite their traditional ties with Russia, they must align with Europe. Almost all EU member states are also members of NATO, and there has been no war in Europe for almost 100 years due to that economic and security alliance," Kllokoqi said.
