Ismet Kryeziu from the Kosovo Democratic Institute stated to Kosovo Online that Serbs could have replaced mayors in four municipalities in the north during the referendum, and he assessed that boycotting was not good for them.

Kryeziu said that Serbian citizens had not exercised their right to vote and to replace municipal presidents and choose new ones and that now they had lost the opportunity to influence decisions at the local level.

"The political party that called on people not to vote is also to blame, and I don't think that was good for the citizens. I think citizens now cannot have their elected representatives and take responsibility for their lives and things at the local level," Kryeziu emphasized.

He added that no irregularities had been noticed during the electoral process, but he mentioned the cameras at polling stations as a novelty. Kryeziu also stated that the ballot boxes had not been in very good condition and that there was concern that the secrecy of voting had not been guaranteed.
