Lajcak: The bridge over the Ibar cannot be opened without the consent of both sides

I want the opening of the bridge to be a contribution to greater stability; that is very important, and that is why I always repeat that we should use the platform of the dialogue for reaching agreements and ensure that everything that happens is accepted by both sides, EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajcak stated upon his arrival in North Mitrovica.

Lajcak emphasized that he strongly supports the agreement and that the issue of opening the bridge should be resolved through dialogue and mutual agreement, and that any agreement should be made in the spirit of stability rather than tension.

"We should not impose one side's position to the detriment of the other. We have discussed many things and issues, and we will continue to do so. I want us to use the dialogue so that people can feel secure and not fear any tensions," Lajcak said.
