Jehona Lushaku Sadriu, the President of the Women's Forum in the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), has called for Kosovo's chief diplomat Donika Gervalla-Schwarz to resign from her position following her statements in which she sharply criticized the European Union.

Sadriu's reaction came after Gervalla continued to question the EU's ability to ensure security in the Western Balkans. In response to the criticism that followed her statement that the "EU is a paper tiger in terms of security and cannot guarantee peace in Europe without the US and NATO," Gervalla stated that she is not a spokesperson for the European Union but rather "fanatically defends the truth and interests of Kosovo."

"We must remind the hypocritical Minister Gervalla-Schwarz that the EU is a supranational structure that has been guaranteeing peace and security for 78 years through the construction of the most ambitious project of peace and integration. This has been achieved precisely through coordination with the US and the establishment of its security structures. The entire efforts of the EU and EU member states in the Western Balkans over several decades are proof of the determination to create a secure region. Always in coordination with the US, doing precisely what the minister and her leader represent as unnecessary in Kosovo," Sadriu wrote on Facebook.

As she added, Kosovo has chosen to integrate into the EU as its only path.

"This government, as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has so far taken actions against our constitutional vision, despising the EU as a political organization that Kosovo aspires to join," Sadriu stated.

Sadriu urged Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Gervalla to abandon policies that harm Kosovo.

"Gervalla-Schwarz, step down, because your foolish actions cause irreparable damage to Kosovo! In the end, Kurti and Gervalla-Schwarz's path leads to isolation and loss. The path offered by the LDK is the path on which Kosovo walks with friends, it is the path to victory," Sadriu concluded.
