Marinkovic: Court’s interpretations on constituting the Assembly are clear, the question is whether the government is willing to follow them

Miodrag Marinkovic, Executive Director of the NGO CASA, believes that the Constitutional Court of Kosovo has provided clear interpretations of the legal framework concerning the constitution of the Assembly, and that the remaining question is how political parties—above all Self-Determination—view the Court’s decisions.

“I think the Constitutional Court has given clear interpretations of the legal framework, especially regarding the participation of minorities. However, they [the ruling party] have shown that the political will for conflict, which they have cultivated all this time, is stronger than the Constitution and the law. At least that is how they behave. So the only dilemma in this case is whether the current government is willing to listen to the decisions of its own court. Nothing else,” Marinkovic told Kosovo Online.
