The appeal submitted by the Serb List to the Constitutional Court of Kosovo regarding the election of the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly from the Serbian community is still under review, the Court announced.

"This request is currently under review. All interested parties and the public will be informed in a timely manner about any decision of the Court", the Constitutional Court said in its response to Front Online.

The appeal to the Constitutional Court was submitted on 16 October on behalf of ten MPs who claim that the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly, as well as a previous ruling of the Constitutional Court, were violated when Nenad Rasic, an MP from the Freedom, Justice and Survival party, was elected Deputy Speaker of Parliament from the Serbian community on 10 October.

Rasic was nominated by the Speaker of the Assembly from the Self-Determination Movement, Dimal Basha, and since he did not have the support of the majority of Serbian MPs, the Serb List, which holds nine seats, considers his election disputable and contrary to the regulations.

Why the ruling of the Constitutional Court in this case is important was examined by the Kosovo Online portal in its analysis "Waiting for the Constitutional Court: The response to the Serb List’s appeal as guidance for future cases".
