Mijacic: By abolishing payment transactions, Pristina would prevent the functioning of all Serbian institutions in Kosovo

Coordinator of the National Convention for Chapter 35, Dragisa Mijacic, stated that if Pristina abolished payment transactions with Serbia, it would hinder the functioning of all Serbian institutions in Kosovo.

He told Euronews Serbia that this was one of the major cards held by the Pristina administration - to prohibit payment transactions in Kosovo, namely to ban the use of the dinar.

"This would prevent the functioning of all Serbian institutions in Kosovo, primarily health care, education, social institutions, and various other Serbian institutions that still operate in that area", Mijacic pointed out.

Earlier today in Davos, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that he was concerned about threats from Pristina, following their announcement that they were ready to consider abolishing payment transactions and banning the use of the dinar, as well as that this would be a topic of discussion with the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, James O'Brien.
